When do you switch out rooms or add new rooms?

This is, by far, the most common question we get. The moment anyone does our escape room game they immediately want to do another. Which, not for nothing, we duper dig. Originally we had hoped to make a new room every 4 monts and run each room for an entire year so that 3 rooms would be available at any time. However, we're hoping to do something Halloween themed so we might not stick to that schedule.

Is it $20 per person?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Plus tax. It's not a very sexy question but we only answer questions that are actually asked a lot. It should be noted that kids under 12 are free with a  paying adult and groups over 6 only pay for 6.

What's the fastest anyone has done it.

Accepted Answer

The current record is disarming the bomb with 23:11 remaining.

Question 4

What if we have more than 6 players.

Accepted Answer

We can accomodate more than 6 players. We make a couple modifications to the room. Just call or email us to let us know. We only charge for 6 people even if there is more than 6 in your group.

Are you actually locked inside a room?

Accepted Answer

Some rooms will remain open with an "objective" to complete to "escape". Others will have doors that close and lock behind you once you enter but there is always an emergence exit for easy forfeiture of play.

Is there an age limit for players?

Accepted Answer

There's no hard age limit. Kids under 12 are free with a paying adult. Although kids under 12 may not contribute as much as someone older they always have a great time.

Has anyone done it without using any clues?

Accepted Answer

No. At least one group has used only one clue but no one has quite done it without using any.

Why did you choose the name Nearby Wind.

Ok, so no one actually asks us this but we love sharing it anyway. "Nearby Wind" is an anagram of Brian & Wendy. Isn't that the cutest?

Is there a penalty for using clues?

Accepted Answer

No. Your team is given three free clues to use at any time during the game. There is no penalty for using your clues. Some rooms may also havea a "one extra free clue" card hidden inside.

Question 10

Can you work a birthday present or other item into your escape room?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! What we do program the "bomb" so that once it's disarmed it reveals the combination to a final lock that holds the present you provide. And if the bomb isn't disarmed in time we always let the players continue on so they will always get your present in the end.

You know the name "Nearby Wind Escapes" sounds like... a... you know?"

Yeah we know. One of us thinks it's funny as hell. (Hint: it's not the one you'd guess)

These are all questions that we've actually been asked a lot. That is in direct contrast to 99% of the FAQs on the web that are really just a way for the company to present information they want to give you. Ours are in a general order of the most frequently asked to the least.
